Are you a trend-setter, a dedicated follower, or a fashion disaster? That’s the question we’ve been asking of the PRADA Phone 3.0 by LG, the phone company’s third attempt at a handset suitable for the catwalk, and the first to legitimately fall under the smartphone banner. Running Android with a custom UI in Anna Wintour’s favorite color scheme, the new PRADA handset is hoping to appeal to fashionistas and geeks in equal measure, but is it truly bespoke, merely off the peg, or a thrift-store special? Read on for the SlashGear review…

There are also stable builds for the Samsung Nexus S, Nexus S 4G, Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab 10…
Samsung’s pink version of the Galaxy Note has gone on sale in Korea, and when you’re dealing with an oversized phablet like the 5.3-inch Note, that’s a whole lot of pink. Offering the same 1280 x 800 touchscreen with both finger and digital stylus input – then pen here also being matching pink, with a fetching grey barrel button – and Android Gingerbread complete with TouchWiz modifications, the pink Galaxy Note should, Samsung hopes, extend the appeal of the handset to a more female audience…

Starting today and all of this week we’re getting our first look at the new HTC One series of smartphones. Starting with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core powered HTC One X, and then the equally impressive One S with the dual-core Qualcomm S4 Krait processor. We’ve reviewed them both here at Android Community and will link to them below, but what we were impressed with (among many things) was the battery life and conservation…
Koush’s ClockworkMod custom recovery is the de facto standard for Android modders out there, and in the last few months a few devices like the Galaxy Nexus have been given beta versions of ClockworkMod Touch. Today that small number of (official) devices extended by two. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical when I read that Sharp and NTT DoCoMo were releasing a modified version of the Japan-only AQUOS SH-06D to coincide with the release of the latest Neon Genesis Evangelion movie. “That’s nice,” thought I, “it’ll probably be a mildly lame tie-in with a themed case and a few ringtones, like the R2-DROID-2…

The tiny Instagram app grew to a gigantic 27 million users during its first year in the App Store. Archos has been around for a lot longer than Android tablets have, pumping out reliable if uninspiring media players for videophiles on the go. While the 101 G9 is a solid enough tablet and equivalent in most respects to the first generation of Honeycomb devices from bigger manufacturers, almost a year later it’s become somewhat left behind…
Square updated its “pay by saying your name” app Card Case, simply renaming it Pay With Square. What’s more interesting is the photo feature: If a customer turns on the auto-open tab, which shows location, merchants will be able to see how close the customer is before they even step into the store. Pay With Square is also expanding its geofencing capabilities, making it available for Android in addition to the iPhone…
Android’s greatest asset (besides a few billion dollars in Google development and promotion) is its flexibility. We’ve seen it power everything from video glasses to robots – and on that scale, a car stereo is relatively mundane. Even so, Clarion’s Mirage is an impressive piece of vehicular tech, and will certainly catch your eye if you happen to fall at the intersection of car stereo and Android enthusiast…
